Participants are personally responsible for their own health and are deemed to have accepted this responsibility upon registration.

RACE FORMAT, PACE & RULES

Do I have to run the race in one go, or can I stop and rest?

All courses are single-stage races; the stopwatch does not stop from start to finish.

  • Walking, stopping to rest, sitting down at the station to gather your thoughts is perfectly normal.

  • The moment you exceed the time limits and cut-off times, you will be officially disqualified from the race.

Will I be disqualified if I walk or slow down too much?

Walking is not a reason for disqualification.
Reasons for disqualification include, for example:

  • Exceeding the time limit

  • Failure to carry one of the mandatory items

  • Littering

  • Shortening/cutting the course

  • Failure to comply with the security rules established by the organisation

such situations. Details will be provided in the Competition Rules section.

How are time limits and cut-off points determined

For each course:

  • Total completion time

  • At some stations, cut-off times are specified. These times are calculated taking into account both safety and logistical planning and are published in the Race Guide / Race Book.

Is it free to run with headphones? Is it free to run with headphones

For security reasons:

  • It is recommended to use it with one ear open.

  • Music that is so loud that it prevents runners from hearing warnings from traffic, referees, officials or other runners is not recommended and may be prohibited in some sections.

The organisation reserves the right to impose restrictions on the use of headphones when necessary.

Is the use of batons (running poles / trekking poles) allowed?

Yes, the use of walking sticks is common in trail races and is generally permitted.
However:

  • The athlete who starts with the baton is responsible for carrying the batons until the finish line.

  • Baton sticks may be left at the station, in the drop bag or with the support team and cannot be retrieved (unless otherwise specified in the rules).

  • Care should be taken with the tips of the poles to avoid harming other runners on narrow paths.

The definitive set of rules will be found in the Competition Rules section.

Where can the mandatory material list be accessed from?

Will the mandatory equipment be checked at the start or during the course?

Yes. The organising team:

  • Race kit distribution

  • Start area randomly

  • At certain points along the course, mandatory equipment checks may be carried out. Missing equipment may result in penalties ranging from a warning to disqualification.

Is the headlight mandatory, is the track too dark

The requirement for a headlamp is determined based on the length of the course and the planned finish time:

  • For long courses where there is a possibility of staying overnight (e.g. 70K), a headlamp will generally be mandatory.

  • It may not be necessary, as the aim is to complete shorter courses during daylight hours.

The current status is also specified in the Mandatory Materials List each year.

Is it mandatory to use a GPS watch?

A GPS watch is recommended but is not usually required.

  • The course will be marked out; no map or compass is required for navigation.

  • A GPS watch is a convenience for tracking your own pace and distance.

If it is made mandatory, this shall be clearly stated in the rules.

How will the track marking be?

Course:

  • Strips, reflective strips

  • Arrow signs

  • Signs are placed at certain critical points.

Under normal conditions on a straight road, the distance between signs is at a frequency that is visible to the naked eye; at junctions and turns, the density of signs increases.

What should I do if I get lost?
    • Return to the last sign you saw.

    • If you have mobile phone reception, contact the organisation team via the emergency numbers.

    • Check your location using the GPX file (if available) that you are advised to carry with you.

Without panicking, it is often sufficient to return to the last point you were certain about.

Does the phone pick up everywhere on the track?

In some areas of mountainous and forested regions, the signal may be weak.

  • It ensures security at critical points through organisational radio/satellite communication.
