Sandras Ultra Trail is a volunteer movement.
The spirit of Sandras stands through the efforts of hundreds of volunteers who deliver the silence of the mountains to the runners. If you have come to this page, you are now ready to be part of this movement.
🙋♀️ Volunteer Application
Who can apply?
- Anyone 18 years of age or older,
- Those who love nature, sports culture, and teamwork,
- Responsible individuals who can adapt to field duties.
🧩 Task Groups
Volunteers play a critical role in every stage of the race. After your application, we place you in the most suitable task group based on both your preferences and the event's needs.
🏁 Start & Finish Area Team
- Start setup, preparation of barriers and corridors,
- Placing runners at the starting line,
- Welcome at the finish line, medal and refreshment area support.
🥤 Checkpoint & Nutrition Point Team
- Water and food service,
- Ensuring runners receive service quickly and safely,
- Maintaining order in trash and recycling areas.
🧭 Course Marshals
- Checking course markers and directional signs,
- Directing runners at critical intersections,
- Reporting safety or emergencies via radio/phone.
📝 Registration & Kit Distribution Team
- Welcoming runners at registration desks,
- Delivering bib numbers, chips, and race packages,
- Assisting in keeping runner lists updated.
🚐 Logistics & Transportation Team
- Assisting with shuttle vehicle departure times,
- Helping transport water, refreshments, and materials to stations,
- Maintaining order in warehouse and logistics areas.
📷 Media & Social Media Team
- Taking photos and short videos from the field,
- Providing visuals and short notes for social media content,
- Assisting the team in collecting stories from runners and volunteers.
📘 Volunteer Guide
The Volunteer Guide summarizes the key points you need to know before race days. Please read these headings carefully before your duty.
🔹 Before the Race
- Complete volunteer check-in at the specified time and location,
- Join the volunteer communication/WhatsApp group,
- Prepare weather-appropriate clothing and personal equipment (raincoat, flashlight, power bank, etc.).
🔹 During Duty
- Follow instructions from the team leader and volunteer coordinator,
- Always approach runners with respect, calmness, and support,
- Ensure your own safety and the safety of the surroundings,
- Protect the environment; pay attention to trash and waste management.
🔹 After the Race
- Return equipment to be handed in (vest, radio, etc.) to the relevant person,
- Fill out the short evaluation/feedback form,
- Stay in touch to remain part of the Sandras Ultra family in future years.
⚖️ Rights and Responsibilities
🟢 Organization's Responsibilities Towards Volunteers
- Providing necessary briefing and guidance before starting duty,
- Planning duty hours within reasonable and humane limits,
- Providing necessary duty equipment (volunteer vest, name tag, etc.),
- Offering water, light refreshments, and break opportunities,
- Maintaining communication and health support chain in emergencies.
🟣 Volunteers' Responsibilities
- Starting duty on time and remaining on duty for the planned duration,
- Following instructions from team leaders, coordinators, and referees,
- Establishing respectful, inclusive communication with runners, other volunteers, and local people,
- Complying with safety and environmental rules,
- Maintaining confidentiality regarding personal data and runner information.
Our volunteers are an integral part of the Sandras Ultra Trail organization team. This mutual respect and responsibility determines the quality and safety of the race.
